On my personal YouTube channel, I make travel video diaries to document places I visit and events that I go to. I compose clips of things that captured my attention along with some music that I feel matches the mood of that adventure. I use these videos both for personal reflection and as a form of visual storytelling.

Travel Vibes : Hong Kong & Beyond

Video diary of my time in Hong Kong during the Summer of 2015. I lived in the city for 2 months during my internship at BKRM.

I had visited Hong Kong before, but had never spent as much time there as I had in this period. I got to explore so many different areas of the city that I wouldn’t have been able to in a shorter amount of time.

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work abroad for a brief period of time and to have been able to live in a city as interesting and spectacular as Hong Kong.

Sonoma.

A brief video of a day I spent in Sonoma County in the North San Francisco Bay Area.

I had attended the Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic, an event where various hot air balloons launched from one field. I also went to an Open House at the Sonoma Lavender Barn to see the lavender fields in full bloom.

In this video, I was testing out a color grading technique on Adobe Premiere to convey different tones with the two events.

Travel Vibes : New York City

This video features various clips from my first time in New York City.

I prefer using video, over photography, as a means of capturing landscapes because of movement. Although it is nice to see one precise moment in time, the visualization of movement presents a much more nuanced look into the people’s behaviors and interactions with their environment.

Nothing is ever stagnant. I like to capture these fleeting moments in the places I visit, especially in a place that moves as fast as New York City.
